• Riding Lessons

My philosophy is that we all start at the same place when it comes to horsemanship and equitation. We all learn at our own pace and in our own styles. We all progress in accordance with our abilities. I am committed to providing a safe, fun environment for students of all abilities, to learn horsemanship, riding  and life skills.

• Horsemanship Clinics

Over twenty years of experience with horses including pleasure riding. Competitive Trail Riding Competitions. Showing in hunters and jumpers; and extreme cowboy racing. Learn basic horsemanship skills. Including catching. leading, grooming, tacking and common horse sense. Make your experiences with horses safe and positive. Classes can be arranged to fit your schedule.

• Equine assisted learning

Horses truly are amazing animals ! Working in cooperation with our herd of horses Star beam stables offers equine assisted learning programs to individuals, groups and the corporate world. Programs are designed to improve communication,self esteem, cognitive thinking skills, team performance. Through activities with the horse, people are encouraged  to connect with their emotions and be more present in the moment. Horses have a remarkable way of healing our hurts and our hearts. Each of our programs are tailored  to meet your individual and corporate needs. We  are also  committed to working with other professionals in the mental and occupational health field

Richard Maidman is an Equine Canada certified instructor of beginners. Richard  has been involved with therapeutic riding for the past eight years and is an qualified  EAL facilitator. Starbeam stables is located 45 minutes east of Calgary. One mile south of Carseland alberta
